» Inspiring Minds

INSPIRING MINDS is a vital community program that enables all families and children regardless of their financial background an opportunity to visit TELUS World of Science – Calgary and discover the wonders of science and art.

Every year hundreds of economically disadvantaged children and families access the program. By supporting Inspiring Minds, you help us continue to provide these individuals with an opportunity to participate in programs that foster life-long learning.

Inspiring Minds is comprised of different programs designed to meet the needs of those with a variety of interests. From families to students, Inspiring Minds ensures everyone is given a chance to take a journey of discovery.

Science Adventures

The Science Adventures Program provides admission passes for TELUS World of Science – Calgary to charities and not-for-profit organizations whose primary clients are economically disadvantaged. Priority is given to groups who serve families and children that may not be able to visit our facility without program assistance.

Science Adventures Club

The Science Adventures Club is an after school program that TELUS World of Science – Calgary operates in partnership with the Calgary Learning Village Collaborative (CLVC). Science Educators visit designated schools and offer hands-on science and engineering based activities to children in grades one through six.

Most of the schools within the CLVC do not have the resources to visit TELUS World of Science - Calgary. By bringing our programs on-site, we offer students an opportunity to participate in enriching after school activities. Without the Science Adventures Club, many of these students may not have a chance to participate in a stimulating after school program.

Science Futures

The Science Futures Program offers schools in low socioeconomic neighborhoods fieldtrips to TELUS World of Science – Calgary. The majority of these students have not had the opportunity to experience our facility.

My son had gone to TELUS World of Science with his school. He kept asking me to take him there again but we didn’t have the money. When we got these passes my son was so excited. It was interesting for me too, but mostly I just loved how happy it made my son. Thank you for giving my son and me a chance to be like other families.

Summer Camp Bursary

As a legacy to the memory of two very important people to TELUS World of Science – Calgary, a bursary has been established to provide admission fees for children in one of our week-long summer camps.

TELUS World of Science – Calgary offers numerous summer camps throughout the months of July and August. These camps appeal to children ages six to twelve years old.

City of Calgary Subsidy Program

TELUS World of Science – Calgary is pleased to partner with the City of Calgary and offer fee assistance to Calgarians who are in financial need.
The City of Calgary issues qualifying individuals access cards that they can use to redeem for one free visit to our facility.

New Canadians Program

The New Canadians Program provides accredited organizations and schools that offer adult English as a Second Language classes an opportunity to book one free class visit to TELUS World of Science – Calgary.
The program also provides each student on the class visit with two complimentary passes. Students can then bring friends or family members to our facility to enjoy all of our interactive exhibits and a Discovery Dome show.

Community Sneak Peaks

When select programs, films and exhibits open at TELUS World of Science – Calgary, local charities that service financially challenged families are given complimentary passes to attend special preview events.
This opportunity is provided for the group in advance of the official public opening.

Free Friday Night Stargazing

Every Friday night from October to April, admission to view celestial objects through our telescopes on our Observatory Deck is free of charge to all budding astronomers.
