Human BodyWith a theme of “exploring me,” as the body changes over time, this gallery encompasses both how human life develops from a single cell to an aging adult, as well as an exploration of the key physiologic systems that keep us “working” day to day. Exhibits will explore the “how” of our bodies and the “what if’s” so that the public can become more knowledgeable as to how their own body functions. A focus will be to create a general awareness of one’s body so that guests can make better decisions about their body regarding nutrition, exercise, and brain-power. Guests will be both informed and provoked into discussion about themselves, and reflect on both their own similarities to all humans, as well as their own uniqueness. A science centre is one of the truly safe and authentic environments where discussions and exhibits relating to reproduction, aging and health can be found. We all have questions, but all too often they are either hard to ask, or are challenging to get answered. We want people to leave the space with a better understanding of how their body functions now, and how that function changes over one’s lifespan. The message is an understanding of ones’ body allowing informed choices to be made.
