Creating the Future: Our New Facility

When complete in the Fall of 2011, the new world-class TELUS World of Science - Calgary will be one of Canada’s largest science centres and will be a significant addition to the cultural offerings within the country.

Exhibit Halls

In addition to the Creative Kids Museum, the new TELUS World of Science will encompass halls profiling:

  • Energy & Innovation: Hall of Transformation
  • Earth & Space
  • Human Body
  • Technology, Style and Art: Presented by Suncor Energy Foundation

An impressive Feature Presentation Hall is planned to showcase touring exhibitions from other museums. Visitors will enjoy the latest in media technology in the Dome Theatre and can experiment with a number of interactive exhibits and self-testing kiosks in the Werklund Foundation Learning & Leadership Centre.

A stunning 10,000 square-foot Atrium will be the central entry point to all halls.

Latest Technology

Utilizing the very latest technologies throughout the facility, Canadians will be invited to enjoy programs and exhibits either on-site or via a virtual science centre experience. Guided by on-going research reflecting community interests and needs, the new science centre will be a hub for adults, teens and children to explore the many dimensions of science, technology and art. The results will spark a life-long interest in education and knowledge-based careers, ultimately sustaining the enviable high quality of life Albertans enjoy.
