Available on Tuesday's year-round. Please call 403-268-8311 to book! STARLAB is a portable planetarium that is used for astronomy education. It is an exciting and unique learning environment that allows your students to discover the wonders of the universe. We provide everything you need – even the astronomy presenter. Each STARLAB presentation is approximately 45 minutes long. NOTE: The STARLAB planetarium is wheelchair-accessible and can accommodate a maximum of 25 students and their teacher. It also requires a large unobstructed space with a high ceiling. The minimum dimensions of the space required to setup the STARLAB is 6.4m x 6.4m x 3.4m [21’ x 21’ x 11’] and for this reason it is usually setup in a gymnasium, library, or multi-purpose room. ____________________ Grade 6 – The Starry Sky CURRICULUM CONNECTIONS: Science: Sky Science Step inside the STARLAB and experience a whole new world! Observe the motion of the sky and the current phase of the Moon. Listen to mythological stories about monsters, heroes, and gods, and learn to identify seasonal constellations, stars, and planets. ____________________ Grade 9 – Exploring the Night Sky CURRICULUM CONNECTION: Science: Space Exploration Join us on a voyage of exploration inside the STARLAB! Explore the diversity of stars and planets, observe the celestial sphere and learn about sky coordinate systems.
