Explore the Sky is a one-night, 2.5 hour adult level course ideal for anyone who wants to learn the sky.

Spectacular Sky

Sit in the comfort of our Discovery Dome Theatre as we simulate the night sky on our giant 360° projection screen. On clear nights, we go outside to see the real stars from our observatory!

Skilled Instructor

Explore the Sky is taught by Alan Dyer, astronomer and associate editor of SkyNews Magazine!

In the course you will learn to identify the brightest stars and constellations of the current season,and witness how the sky moves in time lapse fashion.

Explore the Sky - Family Course

Friday, Feb. 12, 2010

7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Our popular one-night session for young astronomers returns on the Family Day and Teacher’s Convention long weekend. In this live presentation, under our “Digistar” stars in the Discovery Dome Theatre, you’ll learn how to find your way around the night sky, how to sight popular targets with binoculars and telescopes, hear about the phases of the moon and at the end of the evening you’ll have an opportunity to view the night sky through our rooftop telescopes, weather permitting. This course is suitable for children ages 8 to 12. Registration is $40 per family. Call 268-8302 to register.
