» Science CaféScience Cafe is a place where, for the price of a cup of coffee or pint of beer, you can learn about the latest ideas and issues in science and technology in an informal setting. It’s not a lecture! It’s a place for group discussion and audience involvement is the most important ingredient. Science Café is a global phenomenon, and in Calgary it is hosted by TELUS World of Science - Calgary and the University of Calgary. It is held from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Ironwood Stage and Grill, 1429 9th Avenue SE (Inglewood) on the fourth Tuesday of the month from September to November and January to May. To RSVP, or to receive notification of upcoming Calgary events, send an e-mail with your name and e-mail address to sciencecafe@ucalgary.ca.
Next Science Cafe: Tuesday, January 26th: “Pandemics: risks and reactions to an issue of public health” - we have a super speaker lineup, including Alberta’s Deputy Medical Officer of Health, Judy MacDonald. Everyone is welcome to this free program, where you will hear the opinions of the experts, and then have your own opportunity to discuss and debate, all while enjoying a beverage with friends in a pub! 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Ironwood Stage and Grill, 1429 - 9th Ave SE.
